Privacy
Privacy policy.
What we collect when you ask for a quote or become a customer, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how to get it changed or deleted. Last updated 11 October 2026.
Who we are
This policy covers MF Energy Electrical Group Pty Ltd (ABN 56 691 042 618), trading as MF Energy (“we”, “us”). We design and install solar, battery and EV charging systems and do electrical repairs and servicing. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, install, support and stay in touch.
- Contact details: your name, mobile, email and suburb or postcode, the best time to call, and your address once we're quoting or installing.
- About your home and energy use: what you're after, property type, whether you own it, number of storeys and your rough power bill. Later, power bills or usage data you choose to send us.
- To install and claim rebates: the owner's details and the system details that the federal small-scale rebate (STCs), the Cheaper Home Batteries Program and your electricity network require.
- Photos: photos of the installation, taken for quality and warranty records.
- How you found us: the page you asked for a quote from, the page you first landed on, the site that referred you, and ad campaign tags. This tells us which advertising works.
- Website use: pages visited, device and browser, and roughly where you are (see Cookies and analytics below).
We don't ask for sensitive information. If you tell us something like that (for example, that someone at home relies on powered medical equipment), we use it only to plan the work safely.
How we collect it
- When you use the quote form on this website, call, email or message us.
- During a site visit, a quote and the installation.
- From someone who refers you. If you refer a friend, please make sure they're happy for us to contact them.
- Automatically, when you use this website.
You can ask a general question without giving your name. To quote or install, we need to know who you are and where the system is going.
What we use it for
- Calling you back, checking a few details and preparing your quote.
- Installing, connecting and commissioning your system, and claiming rebates on your behalf.
- Warranty, service and safety follow-ups.
- Sending you news and offers, but only if you've agreed to receive them.
- Improving our website and advertising, and meeting our legal and licensing obligations.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only where it's needed to do the work, or where the law requires it:
- Government and regulators: the Clean Energy Regulator, to create the STCs that reduce your system's price, and any state agency running a rebate you apply for.
- Your electricity network and retailer: for grid connection approval and meter changes.
- Manufacturers and suppliers: to register warranties on panels, inverters, batteries and chargers.
- Our service providers: the companies that store our quote requests (Supabase, in Sydney), deliver enquiry emails to us (Resend), run our business email (Microsoft 365), host this website (Vercel), measure website use (Google Analytics) and show us when visitors arrive from AI assistants (Promptwatch). They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
- Professional advisers and authorities: our accountants, lawyers and insurers where needed, and anyone we're required to disclose to by law.
Information stored overseas
Quote requests are stored in Australia. Some of our other service providers store or process data outside Australia: Resend, Microsoft, Vercel, Google and Promptwatch may store or process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. We choose providers with recognised security and privacy standards, but overseas laws may not protect your information in the same way as Australian law.
Emails and messages
We send marketing emails and texts only to people who have agreed to receive them, and every one has an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing from marketing doesn't stop messages we need to send about your quote, installation or warranty.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show us which pages are useful. It tells us about traffic in general, not who you are, and we never send it your name, phone or email.
We also use Promptwatch to see when people arrive here from AI assistants such as ChatGPT. It receives the address of the page you're viewing, the page that sent you here, and your browser's language and time zone. It sets no cookies and receives nothing that identifies you.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works either way.
Keeping it secure
We keep personal information in access-controlled systems used only by our team. We keep installation and warranty records for as long as the warranty and the law require, and we delete or de-identify information we no longer need.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we don't need to keep. Contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days and won't charge you for making a request.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, contact us using the details below. We'll look into it and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
