Do I need a switchboard upgrade?
Not always. Many homes can take a 7 kW charger on the existing board. Older boards without room or safety switches may need work. We check first and show you why before quoting any upgrade.
Is a granny charger enough?
If you drive less than about 50 km a day and park at home overnight, a standard power point can be enough. A wall charger is faster and safer for daily use, and lets you charge from solar.
Charging from your solar
Smart chargers can soak up spare solar during the day instead of sending it to the grid for a few cents. Pair that with a battery and most of your driving can run on your own roof.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger in Sydney?
