Heritage areas and street-facing roofs
Much of the Inner West is in heritage conservation areas, from Glebe and Annandale to Haberfield and Ashfield. Panels on a roof that faces the street can need extra approval there, and heritage-listed homes have their own rules. We check your property before we design, and keep panels to the rear roof where we can.
Terraces and workers' cottages
A narrow terrace roof can still fit a useful system. We look at the main roof, the rear skillion and any garage or studio before settling on a layout, and use panels that get the most out of a small space.
Finding a spot for the battery
With no garage and a narrow side passage, the battery spot takes some thought. Under the Australian standard a battery can't go in a living area or block an exit, and it needs to be out of direct sun. We'll show you the options and where everything will go before you commit.
Ausgrid connection, handled
The Inner West is on Ausgrid's network. Solar and battery systems need Ausgrid's approval to connect, and some homes have an export limit. We lodge the application and tell you about any limit before you commit.
